Footage Of Rhea Chakraborty's Statement Regarding Sushant Rajput's Death Leaks To The Media
JAKARTA - India's Narcotics Agency (NCB) ordered a departmental investigation into their officers who allegedly leaked part of actress Rhea Chakraborty's statement to a TV channel. The statement in question is related to the drug case in the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.
NCB recorded Rhea's statement for three days after she was arrested on September 9. Sources say that when the actress's statement was broadcast on national television channels, a senior officer confiscated the cell phones of all NCB officials present at the Mumbai office. However, it was not further explained which part of Rhea's statement was leaked.
Launching the Hindustan Times, Wednesday, September 30, the phone was checked and a report was made against the related officers and sent to Delhi. The officer was then taken from the investigation and sent to Delhi, NCB sources said.
Meanwhile, according to NCB sources, the three actresses - Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor - who were questioned about their drug links gave almost identical statements. This made it appear that they were being mentored by a senior advocate.
The three actors told NCB that they did not use drugs, but just used to chat where they referred to cigarettes as 'maal', hashish as 'patla cigarettes' and marijuana as 'mota cigarettes or rolls', said NCB sources.
Sources said Kapoor had brought CBD oil (a chemical compound present in the cannabis plant), but he claimed that it was brought for external use, which is not illegal.
The NCB source also said the agency is authorized to put suspects' phones under surveillance, and has verified multiple calls of suspects before calling them to provide statements.
Sources also said that the calls of several Bollywood figures are being monitored and they will be contacted soon.
