Krakatau Steel And Tata Metal Lestari Collaborate To Develop Modern Steel Construction Housing
JAKARTA - PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk together with PT Tata Metal Lestari (Tatalogam Group) developed the KRASHome product, a residential building made from modern steel construction with the Light Pre-Engineered Building (Light PEB) concept.
The collaboration for the development of Total Steel Solution officially started after the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two parties at the PT Tata Metal Lestari factory in the Delta Silicon Valley Industrial area, Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, Thursday, March 31, morning. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Director of Business Development of Krakatau Steel, Purwono Widodo and Vice President of PT Tata Metal Lestari, Stephanus Koeswandi.
“This KRASHome is the result of a combination of the Cold-Form Galvalume Steel structural design with the use of high-quality materials. The Light Pre-Engineered Building concept means that the construction is light and easy to assemble,” explained Purwono in a press release received by VOI, Saturday, April 2.
The raw material for Cold-Form Galvalume Steel used by PT Tata Metal Lestari is a product of Cold Rolled Coil (CRC) Krakatau Steel with full hard SPCC 1D CRC specifications.
Purwono added that an effective and efficient KRASHome installation system resulted in a strong and fast building construction. The use of purlin steel or high strength (hi-ten) galvanized coated steel for the entire main structure of aluminum-zinc coated steel, makes the building's service life longer and economical.
“All Purlin steel components are produced with a cut to length system (as needed) so that no material is wasted. Bolt holes are also made automatically and are integrated with Purlin steel production so as to produce more precise products,” Purwono continued.
This KRASHome product will also help expand the Krakatau Steel market, which will be strengthened by Krakatau Steel's strategic partner, namely PT Tata Metal Lestari, which is also well known for its purlin steel products in the Indonesian construction market.
On the same occasion, Vice President of PT Tata Metal Lestari (Tatalogam Group), Stephanus Koeswandi said, previously PT Tata Metal Lestari had already innovated by making light steel construction-based housing aimed at residential, both commercial and temporary residences and residential areas. stay in disaster-affected locations.
Because of its innovation, the product which was later named the Domus instant house received an award at the 2021 Industrial Technology Pilot event (RINTEK). This award was given by the government as a form of appreciation to the national industry which has consistently succeeded in producing and implementing the use of industrial technology through investment and technology development activities. independently.
“The hallmark of PT Tata Metal Lestari's steel construction-based housing is the assembly process which is easy to do and relatively fast, because that is what is needed in disaster-affected areas. From there, we initiated similar activities aimed at building employee mess facilities such as KRASHome. The difference with our previous products, KrasHome is designed for a larger capacity. It can be built on 2 or 3 floors that can be occupied by hundreds of people safely and comfortably,” said Stephanus.
Previously, after accompanying the PT Karakatau Steel group on a tour of PT Tata Metal Lestari's production facilities, GM Business Development Tatalogam Group, Harsono Mintono also explained, the use of a steel structure connection system using anti-rust bolts/nuts for both Domus and KrasHome houses makes it easy to disassemble the construction. steel whose steel structure uses high-tensile coated steel material.
“Short installation time so that the building can be used more quickly and the lighter weight of the building is the advantage of this product. Overall, the use of KRASHome for steel construction housing is also more economical,” concluded Harsono to reporters.
