Machine Damaged While Flying, Lion Air Plane Going To Surabaya Returns To Lombok Airport
MATARAM - Lion Air JT177 aircraft with registration number PK-LGZ Lombok-Surabaya route landed an emergency due to engine failure shortly after airing from Lombok Airport.
Lombok International Airport General Manager Nugroho Jati said that as a result of the incident, the Lion Air pilot then decided to return to base (RTB) or return to Lombok International Airport.
"The pilot then decided to return to base (RTB) or return to the airport where the plane departed," said Nugroho Jati in a written statement quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 29.
The Lion Air plane was carrying 114 passengers. The take-off plane from Lombok Airport at 16.48 WITA and at 17.00 WITA. Lombok Airport Flight Accident Relief and Fire Fighting Unit (PKP-PK) received information that the aircraft was going to conduct an RTB because it suffered engine failure number 2.
"PKP-PK was also on standby 2. So that at 17.12 WITA, the plane landed safely and parked at the parking stand number 12 Lombok Airport," he explained.
"All passengers then got off the plane and were directed to the airport waiting room. There were no fatalities or passengers who were injured in this incident," continued Nugroho Jati.
