Bank Sampoerna Earns IDR 86 Billion Net Profit In 2021 Thanks To Increased Interest Income To IDR 720 Billion
JAKARTA - Bank Sahabat Sampoerna (Bank Sampoerna) recorded a net profit of Rp. 86 billion, an increase of 84 percent compared to the previous year's profit of Rp. 47 billion. Director of Finance & Business Planning of Bank Sampoerna Henky Suryaputra said this good performance was supported not only by net interest income, but also by non-interest income and good management of operational costs.
He detailed that net interest income in 2021 increased by 8 percent compared to net interest income in 2020 to IDR720 billion. This increase itself cannot be separated from the more stable economic conditions in 2021.
"So that Bank Sampoerna's liquidity management can be run more efficiently with a Loan-to-Deposit Ratio (LDR) at the level of 89.6 percent at the end of 2021, compared to 78.4 percent at the end of 2020," he said in a written statement received by VOI, Friday. April 1st.
Henky added that loans disbursed at the end of 2021 itself increased by 3.9 percent to Rp. 8.5 trillion compared to the previous year's position.
"This credit growth is slightly higher than the banking industry's credit growth which was recorded at 3.3 percent during the same period," added Henky.
Meanwhile, non-interest operating income in 2021 experienced a significant increase of 77.6 percent to Rp42 billion compared to the same period the previous year.
"The number of digital transactions is growing very well. Although it cannot be separated from the impact of the decline in overall economic activity, the number of digital transactions continues to grow and for 2021 it will reach 33.1 million transactions or increase to almost 3 times the number of transactions throughout 2020," he explained. .
In addition, until the end of 2021 itself, the financing disbursed by Bank Sampoerna through P2P and fintech lending companies has increased more than 10 times to hundreds of billions of rupiah compared to the distribution at the end of 2020.
With good management, the ratio of NPL non-performing loans can be reduced by 10 basis points by the end of 2021 to 2.7 percent compared to the same ratio in the previous year.
Henky said, the NPL ratio achieved by Bank Sampoerna was also slightly better than the banking industry average, which was recorded at 3 percent at the end of 2021.
"This decline in NPLs is also accompanied by a downward trend in credit restructuring, which by the end of 2021 was around a third of total loans disbursed compared to about half of loans disbursed at the end of 2020," he said.
Furthermore, Bank Sampoerna recorded an allowance for impairment in the value of financial assets throughout 2021 of IDR 222 billion, an increase of 42.3 percent yoy. Thus, the ratio of CKPN to NPL reaches more than 175.3 percent. Bank Sampoerna is also recorded to have a core capital of IDR 2.05 trillion as of December 2021.
As a result, Bank Sampoerna's capital is getting stronger with a capital adequacy ratio (CAR) of 26 percent.
Meanwhile, Bank Sampoerna said it was ready to increase its capital further to Rp3 trillion before the end of 2022, as well as provide even better services for customers.
