Bend Persita 3-0, Persipura Still Down To League 2
JAKARTA - Persipura Jayapura must be relegated to League 2 next season despite securing a 3-0 win over Persita Tangerang in the last week of the Indonesian League 1 at Kompyang Sujana Stadium, Denpasar, Bali, Thursday.
Launching Antara, despite securing the victory thanks to goals from Yohanes Pahabol, Yehven Bokhasvili and Ramiro Fergonzi, Persipura had to be willing to be relegated to Liga 2 next season because they lost head to head with Barito Putera.
In another match, Barito Putera was able to hold Persib Bandung to a 1-1 draw after Beni Oktovianto scored the equalizer in the 84th minute.
Due to this result, both Persipura and Barito Putera have 36 points from 34 matches and occupy the 16th and 15th positions respectively.

11 minutes later, Persipura doubled their lead to 2-0 after Ukrainian striker Yehven Bokhasvili scored after receiving a pass from Ferinando Pahabol.
In the remaining time of the first half, Persita had scored through South Korean midfielder Bae Sin-yeong, but the referee ruled it out for being in an offside position.
In the second half, Persipura continued to press to try to secure their victory and in the 80th minute were able to make it 3-0 after Ramiro Fergonzi scored a goal.
After this goal Persipura did not reduce the tension of the game and continued to try to maintain their successful lead until the end of the match.
Despite securing three points, in the end Persipura had to be willing to be relegated to Liga 2 next season after many years of competing in the highest caste of Indonesian football and had recorded themselves being able to win the competition four times in the 2005, 2008/2009, 2010/2011 and 2013 seasons.
