DKI Builds Bike Paths At 20 Points This Year, The Budget Is IDR 119 Billion
JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that his party will add more bicycle lanes this year. The budget is IDR 119 billion from the DKI Regional Budget for the 2022 fiscal year.
"The implementation of the bicycle lane construction in 2022 will be carried out for 195.6 kilometers with a budget of IDR 119 billion," Syafrin said when confirmed, Wednesday, March 30.
Syafrin explained that this budget includes budgets for planning, monitoring, resource persons and bicycle lane construction at 20 points.
Meanwhile, since the leadership of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, the DKI Provincial Government has built a bicycle lane of 97.77 kilometers until 2021. The target is that the bicycle lane will be built up to 500 kilometers by 2030.
Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, said that the DKI Provincial Government is trying to make better transportation arrangements than the construction of bicycle lanes. So, it is hoped that more people will switch modes from motorized vehicles.
"We will improve this bicycle lane every year. We will continue to increase the number in order to give bicycle users the opportunity to have their own lane and encourage people to also use bicycles as a recreational tool, sports tool, and also a means of transportation," said Riza.
