Vice President Maruf Amin's Request To Minister Of Trade Lutfi And Kadin To Build A Muslim Fashion Ecosystem
JAKARTA - Indonesian Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin asked the Minister of Trade (Mendag) M Lutfi together with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) to build a Muslim fashion ecosystem.
"I ask the Minister of Trade and Kadin to coordinate and summarize all the elements to build the Indonesian Muslim fashion ecosystem, including a sustainable roadmap for the future," said the Vice President when receiving an audience with the Minister of Trade, Deputy Chairperson of Kadin, and Muslim fashion industry players, in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Tuesday, March 29.
He said, apart from planning, it is also necessary to mitigate the obstacles that may be faced, so that all parties can swiftly face the challenges that occur in the future.
"Then also the obstacles from upstream to downstream, so that what is raised in this meeting we can follow up," said the Vice President affirmed.
The Vice President believes that all of the road map plans that have been prepared can be implemented properly and have a sustainable impact on Indonesia.
“The language we use is so that it is clear, not only meeting but also dripping, there are results, there are executions that will be taken later. Once again, we have to produce something, not only nationally but also internationally,” he said.
Closing his directive, the Vice President also expressed his appreciation for the plan to hold Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week 2022 which will be held in October.
He also emphasized that the Minister of Trade could coordinate with related parties for the smooth implementation of this event.
"Welcoming the planned Jakarta Fashion Week show in October, I support and I ask the Minister of Trade to coordinate with the relevant ministries, (Ministry) of Industry and also (Ministry of) Cooperatives (and) SMEs," said the Vice President.
Trade Minister M Lutfi said that the Ministry of Trade's analysis predicts that there will be an increase in the Muslim fashion industry in 2024.
To take advantage of this opportunity, Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week 2022 will be held, and several other series of events will all highlight the Indonesian Muslim fashion industry.
"We want to start something, that is we want to be a mecca rather than world Islamic fashion," said Lutfi.

Vice Executive Chairman of the Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC) Riri Rengganis reported that currently, on a national scale, creative industry players in the fashion sector have received a lot of support from both the education and industry sides. However, he believes that support on a larger scale is still needed, so that Indonesian fashion can be accepted in the global market.
