Jokowi Sets Target Of 30 Million MSMEs Entering The Digital Ecosystem, Minister Teten's Men: Need Cross-Sectoral Synergy
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (KemenkopUKM) emphasizes that the process of onboarding micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to the digital ecosystem requires a cross-sectoral approach, mapping and synergy method.
As is known, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has asked that the target of 20 million MSME players who are onboarding enter the digital ecosystem or marketplace must be achieved this year. Then increase to 24 million in 2023 and 30 million in 2024 or at the end of his term.
Deputy for Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Siti Azizah, said that currently an approach method is needed for MSME players to go digital. Some things that still need to be considered include digital literacy, production capacity, and the mindset of entrepreneurship.
"It is hoped that the approach to digitizing MSMEs is holistic from upstream to downstream. We cannot work alone, we need cross-stakeholder collaboration. We need to develop a roadmap to realize the target of 30 million digital MSMEs and 1 million MSMEs entering LKPP," he said in a statement. written, Tuesday, March 29.
To achieve this target, said Azizah, Kemenkop UKM held a working group event on the Digitalization of Cooperatives. Experts are invited to share methods and strategies for accelerating the digitization of MSMEs.
In addition, said Azizah, his party also invited local governments that have successful local e-commerce to develop the digitization of MSMEs.
"This working group is expected to generate commitment from all stakeholders from all those present for mapping, cross-sectoral strategies to realize the target of 30 million MSMEs to digital platforms," he said.
Digitization of MSMEs must be done immediately
Meanwhile, Assistant Deputy for Cooperatives and MSMEs, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Iwan Faidi assessed that the digitization of MSMEs is something that must be done immediately.
Furthermore, Iwan explained that the reason is because the value of Indonesia's digital economy is the largest in the Southeast Asia region or reaches 146 billion US dollars in 2045.
"Indeed, MSMEs onboarding are easy, what is difficult is accompanying them to keep selling. Because many MSMEs are still not digitally literate and we have to teach from upstream to downstream. Adoption of technology can increase MSME productivity," said Iwan.
Iwan also emphasized that efforts to increase the digitization of MSMEs are expected to strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs which in turn can contribute to the national economy.
