Booster Becomes A Requirement For Lebaran Homecoming, In North Sumatra The Realization Of The Third Dose Of Vaccine Only 8.72 Percent Of Residents
MEDAN - The North Sumatra Provincial Health Office noted that the number of local residents who had received a booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine reached 1,289,674 out of a total vaccination target of 14,799,361 people.
"In percentage terms, around 8.71 percent of North Sumatran residents have been vaccinated against boosters," said North Sumatra Health Service Secretary Teguh Supriyadi in Medan as reported by Antara, Monday, March 28.
The vaccination achievements of the complete dose recipients were divided into several categories, namely health workers 71,287 (100 percent), the elderly group of 157,326 people (14.4 percent).
Then, public officers are 210,792 people or (23.96 percent), vulnerable people and the general public are 837,852 people (10.76 percent), teenagers are 8,777 people (0.55 percent) and 24 people are children.
Teguh said that his party continues to accelerate the COVID-19 vaccination in collaboration with the TNI and Polri apparatus as well as the private sector.
Vaccination is expected to reduce morbidity and mortality due to COVID-19 and reduce transmission rates.
The public is asked to remain disciplined in implementing the 5M health protocol, namely wearing masks, washing hands with soap and running water, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds, and limiting mobilization and interaction.
"Still comply with health protocols even though they have been vaccinated," he said.
