Ganjar Says Indonesia Needs Improvement Of The Health System In Indonesia

SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo conveyed the importance of improving the health system in Indonesia to regents/mayors throughout Indonesia at the 2022 Healthy City Summit in Semarang City, Monday 28 March.

This activity involves representatives of ministries/agencies, 34 provinces and 514 districts/cities, both from the government and the Provincial/District/Healthy City Forums throughout Indonesia.

"So to build awareness together, they are trying to respond to health issues nationally through the actions of regents/mayors and their enthusiasm has been extraordinary," said Ganjar as quoted by Antara.

The number one person in Central Java also mentioned the increase in maternal mortality during the COVID-19 pandemic due to exposure to the Delta variant of the Corona virus.

"Well, we are trying to anticipate that they or our mothers who are pregnant will receive full attention. The mother is healthy, the child is born healthy and if that can be prepared from the start with good data and good attention," said the former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives. .

The 2022 Healthy City Summit, continued Ganjar, is expected to help ease the government's work in formulating health-related policies.

"Because it turns out that building our health awareness is no longer always a 'top down' order, this came from a 'bottom up' idea from the regents/mayors which I think are great," he said.

According to Ganjar, this will lighten the burden on the government because post-pandemic, there will definitely be policies with new models and scientific data that must be published so far.

"From the results of this 'summit', we hope to have a new system on how to control it," he said.

The Mayor of Bogor as well as the Head of Apeksi Bima Arya hopes that the implementation of this event will also be a sign that the COVID-19 pandemic situation has returned to normal.

"This is the time for us to collaborate for adaptation. There are many new sciences and new things. Talking about health is not just medical devices, but experience and paying attention to the latest data. We hope that Omicron is the last, we hope for the best but prepare for the worst, everyone must be responsive to that," he said.
