Cirebon Police Deploys Audit Team To Supervise Cooking Oil Distribution

CIREBON - Cirebon City Police, West Java, ensured that an audit team consisting of the National Police and the Cirebon Trade Service would oversee the distribution of bulk cooking oil.

"Our audit team has been deployed to oversee the distribution of bulk cooking oil in Cirebon City," said Cirebon City Police Chief, Fahri Siregar, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 23.

The audit team that was formed is an effort to ensure that bulk cooking oil distribution can run according to applicable regulations.

Because, he said, currently the central government has determined the highest retail price (HET) for bulk oil, so monitoring needs to be carried out so that people can get it according to existing regulations.

"The audit team continues to carry out monitoring and distribution of bulk cooking oil," continued Fahri.

According to him, when a sudden inspection was carried out at several bulk cooking oil agents in Cirebon, on average they had followed the HET.

Although there are still distributors who limit the sale of bulk cooking oil, this is due to demand from retailers and the public at large, while supply is not yet normal. "There shouldn't be a limit for purchases, but because the supply is still not sufficient, the agent will impose restrictions," he said.

Meanwhile, a trader from Majalengka Regency Sumiati admitted that it was still very difficult to get bulk cooking oil, and in Cirebon, it was obtained at a price of IDR 15.500 per kilogram. "In Majalengka the price is still IDR 22.000-23.000 per kilogram," she said.

Sumiati admitted that she would sell the oil again, at a price of Rp. 19 thousand per kilogram. Currently, Sumiati said, she only got 56 kilograms of bulk cooking oil, even though before the shortage occurred she could bring home up to 1 ton. "Before there was an increase, I used to spend up to 1 tonne, now 56 kilograms is already difficult," she said.
