Expanding Fleet Of Electric Motorcycles, Grab Targets 14.000 Units By The End Of 2022
JAKARTA - In line with the government's target of accelerating the achievement of zero carbon emissions, technology company Grab is increasingly developing electric vehicles in Indonesia.
President of Grab Indonesia, Ridzki Kramadibrata, stated that his party is working with a number of stakeholders to present 14.000 electric vehicle fleets by the end of 2022.
"Since it was launched in 2019, and in 2021 there have been 8.500 electric vehicles with a dominance of two-wheeled vehicles in Indonesia, with this number we have helped reduce CO2 emissions by 4.600 tons or the equivalent of planting 260.000 trees," Ridzki said at the press conference launch of the collaboration between Grab, Smoot and PLN, Monday, March 21.
Not only does it have a positive impact on the environment, Ridzky continued, the presence of an electric fleet also opens up new opportunities for driver-partners.

"Grab operates a fleet of electric vehicles with a rental scheme, where Grab buys electric motorbikes from manufacturers, then rents them out per day, so driver-partners can save money," he added.
The synergy between business people who were present on this occasion is a strategic step because each has an important role in supporting the acceleration of the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem, starting from the provision of fleets and infrastructure, to operations.
