HET Revoked, Head Of House Of Representatives Commission VIII: The Trade Minister's Side Is Not With The People, Entrepreneurs Big Harvest
SEMARANG - Chairman of the Commission VIII DPR RI Fraction Group (Kapoksi) from the Gerindra Faction Abdul Wachid said that the revocation of the highest retail price (HET) for cooking oil by the Minister of Trade M. Lutfi only benefits businessmen.
"Entrepreneurs get big profits, while people will still have difficulty getting cooking oil which has become their daily need," he said in Semarang, as reported by Antara, Friday, March 18.
According to him, the revocation of the Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 6 of 2022 which regulates the HET for cooking oil is a blunder and fatal.
Initially, the government regulated the HET for bulk cooking oil at IDR 11,500 per liter, simple packaging at IDR 13,500 per liter, and premium packaging at IDR 14,000 per liter.

Meanwhile, according to the replacement rules contained in the Minister of Trade Regulation No. 11 of 2022, the HET for bulk cooking oil is IDR 14,000 per liter and the price of premium, packaging is left to the market mechanism.
"The revocation of the Minister of Trade Regulation No. 6 of 2022 shows that the trade minister's side is not with the people, but for entrepreneurs, big harvest entrepreneurs," he said.
The government should, he continued, take firm steps, namely ordering crude palm oil producers to carry out "domestic market obligations" and "domestic price obligations" to cooking oil companies.
"If the CPO doesn't work, the government must dare to revoke the HGU of the palm oil company. Cooking oil companies can also have their license revoked if they don't produce cooking oil that meets the people's needs," he said.
