Quarantine Policy For Overseas Travelers Removed, Moeldoko: No Need To Worry About Coming To Bali
JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko ensured that the abolition of the quarantine policy for Foreign Travel Actors (PPLN) in Bali did not necessarily ignore health protocols. Therefore, anyone who will visit the Island of the Gods need not worry.
Moeldoko said that the government is currently maximizing resources so that the quarantine-free policy for PPLN does not have an impact on increasing COVID-19 cases.
He conveyed this when monitoring and evaluating quarantine-free policies for PPLN at I Gusti Ngurah Rai airport, Bali.
"I see that the implementation of prokes and testing here (I Gusti Ngurah Rai airport, ed) has been very good. The readiness of the infrastructure to the arrangement of the arrival and departure flow is also well organized," said Moeldoko in a written statement, Friday, March 18.
"So you don't have to worry anymore about coming to Bali," he added.
The former National Armed Forces (TNI) Commander said that I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport had prepared various infrastructures. One of them is providing dozens of testing booths and laboratories that can issue 936 PCR test results within an hour.
Not only that, but the airport has also provided 16 Visa On Arrival (VOA) service counters, including for people with disabilities. "The flow is very good, fast, and all integrated with the PeduliLindung application. This must be maximized," he said.

Moeldoko is optimistic that the easing of quarantine for PPLN and the application of visa on arrival (VOA) will revive the tourism sector in Bali. Moreover, if you look at the trend, said Moeldoko, an increase in the number of arrivals and departures of foreign tourists through I Gusti Ngurah Rai airport has occurred.
"The Head of Bali Tourism also mentioned that the current occupancy of hotels in Bali is also increasing. This is a very good first step to revive the tourism sector in Bali," said Moeldoko.
As is known, based on data from PT Angkasa Pura I, since the implementation of the policy to abolish quarantine for PPLN and the application of visa on arrival in Bali, the number of international flights at I Gusti Ngurah Rai airport has increased.
As of March 16, 2022, the number of international arrivals and departures at Ngurah Rai is 94 flights, with a total of 7.660 foreign tourists. This number experienced an increase from the previous month, which was 2.933 people, with the number of arrivals and departures of 64 flights.
