The SAR Team Has Not Found The 6th Grade Boy Who Drowned In The West Canal Flood River
JAKARTA - AS boy named Afian (12) a 6th-grade elementary school who disappeared from drowning in the West Flood Canal (BKB), Petamburan, Tanah Abang, has yet to be found. The joint SAR team is continuing to search until Thursday, March 17.
Head of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office as the SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) in SAR operations, Hendra Sudirman, said the joint SAR expanded the search radius.
The search is done by dividing the search area into 3 points. The first Search and Rescue Unit (SRU) team will search by sweeping the surface of the Ciliwung River using a rubber boat with a radius of 6 kilometers from the scene.
"The second SRU team will conduct a search by visual observation by land along the banks of the Ciliwung River up to a radius of 4 kilometers from the incident location", said Hendra Sudirman when contacted by VOI, Thursday, March 17.

Meanwhile, the third SRU team searched by sweeping under the surface of the water.
"The search uses the Aqua Eye tool and the Underwater Searching Device. We also carry out a dive process with a radius of 15 meters around the incident location", he said.
Hendra said his party was optimizing the search by deploying SAR personnel and complete equipment.
"Hopefully we will find the victims soon", said Hendra.
