Anies Baswedan Named Best Governor In The World? These Are The Facts
JAKARTA - Circulating posts from Ambar Yunianto's Facebook account containing photos with the narrative that Anies Baswedan has been named the world's best governor. The upload includes a photo of Anies with a number of people.
"DR. Anies Rasyid Baswedan has been named the best governor in the world. The Indonesian people should be proud that there is still the best leader figure in Indonesia," the narration in the picture says.
Reporting from turnbackhoax.id, Tuesday, September 22, Anies Baswedan's claim to be named the world's best governor is not true and is included in the false context.
After conducting a search, the photo was taken at the 2019 World Cities Summit and Mayors Forum (WCSMF) which was held in Medellin, Colombia on 10-12 July 2019. At that event Anies Baswedan was also present as an invited guest with a number of mayors from several countries. .
According to the factcheck.afp.com fact-checking article, Anies Baswedan was present as one of the speakers at the forum. A number of figures were also present, including Jambi Mayor Syarif Fasha and Bontang Mayor Neni Moerniaeni.
At the event, it was also mentioned that there were about 54 mayors and regional leaders who were invited to Medellin. There was no coronation process for Anies Baswedan as the world's best governor.
A photo of Anies's claim to be the world's best governor was clarified by liputan6.com on January 23. In a Liputan6.com search, the photo came from ACI Medellín's twitter account, @acimedellin. This account adds narration to the photo.
