BENGKULU - The Bengkulu Resort Police (Polres) said people caught hoarding cooking oil could face up to seven years in prison.
The head of the Bengkulu Police, AKBP Andi Dady, revealed that his party is currently investigating allegations of hoarding cooking oil. This goes hand in hand with rare cooking oil.
"We will take legal action against people who dare to hoard cooking oil because they are not allowed to hoard because it is a crime," Andi said in Bengkulu, Bengkulu Province, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, March 15.
Therefore, he asked the entire community if they know someone or a party hoarding cooking oil, to immediately report it to the police. The price of cooking oil in Bengkulu is currently Rp. which has oil palm plantations in the world's top ranking.
"We will guarantee an even distribution of cooking oil so that there is no shortage of cooking oil in Bengkulu," he said.
Until now cooking oil in Bengkulu is difficult to find and in modern retail warehouses the stock of cooking oil is empty.
