Coordination Is The Reason Bareskrim Does Not Attend The Pretrial Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte

JAKARTA - Representatives from the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit were not present at the pretrial hearing of Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte's lawsuit over the determination of the suspect in the alleged bribery case for the removal of red notice for Djoko Tjandra. The reason is, the Bareskrim Legal Bureau team is still coordinating on this matter.

"The team needs coordination so that today it cannot attend," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, to reporters, Monday, September 21.

But the coordination was not explained in detail. It was only confirmed that the team from the Legal Bureau would be present at the next trial.

"But the team will be present at the next summons," he said.

Previously, the pretrial trial that was submitted by Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte to the South Jakarta District Court was postponed. Napoleon challenged the determination of the suspect in the case of alleged bribery for the removal of red notice for Djoko Tjandra.

Attorney General Napoleon Bonaparte, Gunawan Raka, said that the trial was postponed with the agenda of reading the lawsuit because the defendant was not present at the trial.

"The trial did not proceed as it should have been because the defendant was not present at the initial examination," said Guntur

The pretrial petition was filed about two weeks ago. The application is registered with the number 115 / Pid.Pra / 2020 / PN JKT.SEL.

In this case, Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte was named a suspect who was suspected of being the recipient of the bribe along with Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo. They are charged with Article 5 Paragraph 2, Article 11 and Article 12 letters a and b of Law Number 20 of 2020 concerning Corruption (Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, the other suspects, namely, Tommy Sumardi and Djoko Tjandra. They were named as suspects on suspicion of grafting bribes. Both of them were charged under Article 5 Paragraph 1, Article 13 of Law 20/2020 concerning Corruption (Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code.

In the bribery case, investigators confiscated US $ 20 thousand, cellphones, including CCTV as evidence.
