Vladimir Putin: Soviets Always Lived In Sanctions And Great Success, Russia Will Be Stronger

JAKARTA - The United States and its allies continue to launch attacks on economic sanctions against Russia in the hope of immediately stopping its invasion of Ukraine. The Kremlin will come to its knees?

Russian President Vladimir Putin received an injection of enthusiasm in the face of global sanctions from the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during a visit to the Kremlin.

Lukashenko said that shortly before entering Putin's office, he received questions from journalists about sanctions that were like a tsunami hitting Russia. To Putin, Lukashenko explained that these sanctions are actually a good opportunity.

"I am a Soviet person, and you (Putin) also come from the Soviet period, and you are well aware that we are always under sanctions, but we are alive and moving forward," said Lukashenko, whose conversation can be seen on the Kremlin's official website on Friday. March 11th.

During the meeting, Lukashenko spoke more than Putin.

He said, the Soviets had been tested for years in exile by western countries. But the Soviets could actually develop.

"Look, we have survived them many times. We have to develop our economy. We can do without them. We have everything we need for a normal life and work."

"You are absolutely right. The Soviet Union has always lived under conditions of sanctions but it is growing and achieving great success. I said yesterday: even after 1990," Putin replied to Lukashenko.

"The sanctions imposed on the Soviet Union were maintained and then extended to a new and recent time," he continued.

Putin admitted that the sanctions this time were very severe. Blow after blow from western countries seemed to always be added to the dose every day.

"But practice over the past few years shows that wherever the West imposes restrictions on us, we acquire new competencies and restore our old skills at new technological levels," Putin said confidently.

"We have certainly become stronger in this regard, you are right. This is indeed the right time when we must strengthen our technological and economic sovereignty," he said.
