The Attorney General's Office Again Sets 1 Former Garuda Officer As A Suspect
JAKARTA - The Deputy Director of Investigation of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes at the Attorney General's Office (AGO) has named former Vice President Treasury Management of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk Albert Burhan (AB) as a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of aircraft.
"That today, suspect AB has been named based on the letter of determination of the suspect number TAP/11/F.2/Fd.2/03/2022 dated March 10, 2022," said the Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) at the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, as quoted by Antara, Thursday, March 10.
Ketut Sumedana revealed, to speed up the investigation process, the Attorney General's Office detained Suspect AB in accordance with the Detention Order of the Director of Investigation of the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes Number: PRINT-10/F.2/Fd.2/03/2022 dated March 10, 2022. .
Sumedana said the detention would be carried out for 20 days, starting from March 10, 2022 to March 29, 2022 at the Salemba Detention Center (Rutan) of the Attorney General's Office Branch.
"Three suspects have been named and three of them have been detained," he said.
On Thursday (24/2), the Attorney General's Office named SA or Setijo Awibowo who was the Vice President Strategic Management Office of PT Garuda Indonesia in 2011-2012 as the first suspect, and named AW or Agus Wahjudo as Executive Project Manager of Aircraft Delivery of PT Garuda Indonesia in 2011. 2009-2014 as the second suspect.
Meanwhile, Albert Burhan or AB is the Vice President Treasury Management of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk in 2005-2012 who was appointed by the Attorney General's Office as the third suspect.
Regarding the development of the case involving PT Garuda Indonesia, the Attorney General's Office has examined 30 witnesses and 2 experts. In addition, the Attorney General's Office is still investigating state losses together with the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency or BPKP.
Ketut Sumedana revealed that AB had the same role as suspects SA and AW, namely not carrying out a good planning for the purchase and procurement from PT Garuda, not conducting market analysis, not using aircraft needs analysis, and not carrying out flight network plans.
"And not doing risk mitigation that is based on the principles of procurement of goods and services, namely effective, efficient, competitive, transparent, fair, reasonable and accountable," said Ketut Sumedana.
