Online Prostitution Defendant Raided By Andre Rosiade Sentenced To 5 Months In Prison
JAKARTA - The Panel of Judges at the Class IA District Court (PN) Padang, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) sentenced the defendant NN to an online prostitution case in a network raided by police and member of the Indonesian Parliament Andre Rosiade in January 2020, with a sentence of five months in prison.
"Sentenced the defendant to five months imprisonment," said head of the panel of judges, Reza Himawan Pratama, whose members are Suratni and Lifiana Tanjung, while reading the verdict, in Padang, as reported by Antara, Friday, September 18.
The US defendant playing pimps was also found guilty and sentenced to seven months in prison.
The panel of judges found the defendant legally and convincingly guilty of violating Article 27 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph (1) of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 KUHP.
The verdict of the panel of judges was the same as compared to the previous prosecutor's demands.
The West Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office, Dewi Permata Asri, demanded NN five months in prison, and the US for seven months.
In the judge's consideration, it was stated that it made it easier for the defendant to be polite in court and had never been convicted.
Meanwhile, the things that were incriminating were the actions of the defendant that had troubled the public.
The two defendants who were accompanied by legal advisor (PH) Riefi Nadra, Devie Diany, Inne Sari Dewi Cs, stated that they accepted the verdict.
"The decision to accept the verdict was after we asked the defendant for an opinion, and he (the defendant) accepted the verdict," he said.
The case is an allegation of online prostitution revealed by the West Sumatra Regional Police together with members of the Indonesian Parliament Andre Rosiade when they raided a hotel in Padang City, Sunday, January 26.
During the raid, the West Sumatra Police arrested NN along with her pimp AS (24).
The trial has been held several times until the verdict is read out at the Padang Class IA District Court, and Andre Rosiade was questioned as a witness on Monday, September 7.
