Good News From Coordinating Minister Airlangga: Starting Tomorrow, The Quarantine Period For Umrah And PPLN Congregations Will Be 1 Day

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlang Hartanto said the quarantine period for Umrah pilgrims and foreign travelers (PPLN) would be reduced to one day. This is in accordance with the direction of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"And the President's direction was that the quarantine has been reduced to 1 day, for both Umrah and PPLN," he said in a virtual press conference, Monday, March 7.

Airlangga said that the regulation will take effect starting tomorrow, Tuesday, March 8, 2022. The full rules will be submitted through a circular letter (SE).

"Starting tomorrow with the new SE BNPB, the technical arrangements will be," said Airlangga.

The coordinator of PPKM Outside Java-Bali said the positivity rate or the rate of positive confirmed cases for travelers after returning from Umrah reached 47 percent.

"Regarding Umrah, the cases of Umrah returning from Umrah were positive for 47 percent in and out," he said.

However, said Airlangga, if the Umrah or PPLN congregants test positive for COVID-19, then people arriving in Indonesia from abroad must undergo isolation.

"Of course if found positive immediately isolation," he said.
