Women In Leadership, Sri Mulyani Says Women Have Additional Value As Leaders
JAKARTA – Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that the role of women as leaders has many benefits and added values. According to her, women can have a positive influence in an organization because the decisions taken can be more comprehensive.
“Diversity creates an inclusive decision value that makes organizations more sensitive. For example, a company that produces goods or services with male and female consumers will accommodate the needs of both genders," she said in a webinar entitled Women in Leadership on Monday, March 7.
The Minister of Finance added that through the presence of women there are benefits that can be taken, such as the ability to multitask.
"With this ability, women can see in detail the sides that were previously invisible," she said.
Furthermore, the treasurer explained that another benefit that can be obtained is the ability of empathy and coaching which is considered better.

"The ability to be able to form leaders who previously had empathy, could multitask to be able to see into details, and have more emotional intelligence will have an impact on the organization which is expected to be more positive," she explained.
Lastly, continued the Minister of Finance, women leaders can be an inspiration to their people by showing that the opportunity to occupy a certain position can actually be achieved. This reflection is also expected to be an inspiration to the younger generation of women.
“Once a woman can occupy and she can produce a good work, then her influence on society will certainly increase. The achievements achieved by women are an example that self-confidence must be built to be able to achieve their goals," concluded the Minister of Finance Sri Finance.
