The COVID-19 Task Force Explains Jokowi's PSBM Concept
JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 Wiku Adisasmito, explained the concept of micro-scale social restrictions (PSBM) that President Joko Widodo wanted to implement in the regions.
Wiku said, PSBM is a limitation of citizen mobility which is regulated on a smaller scale. No longer based on province or district / city, but based on community.
"PSBM means, if there are clusters or groups of cases identified in areas smaller than districts / cities," Wiku said in the Presidential Secretariat Youtube broadcast, Tuesday, September 15.
For example, there is quite a lot of COVID-19 transmission in a certain sub-district, sub-district, even RW. So, the PSBM can be controlled directly in the area.
"So, there will be no mobility of the population to other areas and the handling can focus on those community areas," he said.
Previously, Jokowi asked regional heads to apply more locally based intervention strategies or what has been referred to as PSBM at the RT / RW, village, and village levels.
The reason is, by implementing this kind of intervention strategy, handling in dealing with the spread of COVID-19 can be done in a focused and detailed manner. In accordance with the circumstances of the existing regions.
"The handling, of course, should not be generalized. In a city or district it is the same. Not all urban villages, not all villages, sub-districts experience the same red thing. Some are green, some are yellow and that require different treatment and treatment," Jokowi .
"Therefore, once again a local-based intervention strategy, a local-scale limiting intervention strategy is important to do. Whether it's intervention management at a local scale, or a community," he added.
