School Burglary Case In Sidoarjo Revealed, Perpetrators Steal For Fun Buying Alcohol
SIDOARJO - The Satreskrim Team of the Sidoarjo Police, East Java, revealed a case of school burglary that occurred over the past few weeks in Sidoarjo Regency.
Sidoarjo Police Chief Kombes Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro said a number of perpetrators were arrested in this case, including those who were minors.
"They are DN and NS, both 17 years old, AP (13 years old), the three perpetrators of theft at SDN Klantingsari II, Tarik, Sidoarjo. Another perpetrator is NM (21 years old) detained at the Sidoarjo Police, involved in theft at the Antarctica Sidoarjo High School, SMAN 1 Taman and SMPN 5 Sidoarjo," he said in Sidoarjo, quoted by Antara, Friday, February 25.
The Head of Police said that the theft of SDN Klantingsari II by the Satreskrim Polresta Sidoarjo during an investigation on February 15, 2022, managed to arrest two perpetrators, DN and NS.
The search found three sickles and a screwdriver which were used as tools to commit theft.
"Then the arrest of one other perpetrator, namely AP, the next day in Prambon Sidoarjo District," he said.
In the action. they entered through the back door of the school and then smashed the door to the principal's office using a sickle and screwdriver, then took two Lenovo laptops, a Dell laptop, a Samsung tab, and a projector.
The theft at school, also occurred in other places, namely SMA Antarctica Sidoarjo, SMAN 1 Taman and SMPN 5 Sidoarjo, carried out by another suspect, namely NM.
"The perpetrator carried out the action with three of his friends and has been processed by the Surabaya Police," continued the Sidoarjo Police Chief.
The incident at Antarctica High School started when witness S first noticed the messy TU room, then called R (school security guard) and saw that the TU room and teacher's room windows were damaged as if they had been ripped out. After knowing this, they reported to their leader.
From the results of checking for lost items at the Antarctic High School, there was Rp. 300 million in cash stored in the TU room cupboard and one Lenovo brand laptop which was stored in the teacher's room.
Furthermore, the Resmob Unit of the Sidoarjo Police Satreskrim conducted an investigation on Wednesday, February 23 in Pakal District, Surabaya and arrested one suspect. From the suspect NM, a Lenovo laptop and a backpack were confiscated, the remaining money from the crime amounting to Rp. 1 million.
"The suspect's motive for the theft was to obtain goods that could be sold and the proceeds of the sale were used by the suspect to have fun and buy liquor," explained the Police Chief.
From this case, each suspect was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 7 years in prison.
Kombes Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro appealed to schools in the Sidoarjo Regency to further improve security by installing CCTV, not to keep large amounts of money in school cupboards.
