The Wait Is Answered, Rage Against The Machine Will Appear At Coachella
JAKARTA - Rage Against The Machine (RATM) was confirmed as one of the headliners at the 2020 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival. The event will run for two weekends on April 10-12 and April 17-19 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
RATM's Coachella appearance this year was first revealed in November when the “rageagainstthemachine” Instagram account shared the concert schedule for 2020. Other shows on the schedule include late March in El Paso, Texas; Las Cruces, New Mexico; and Phoenix, Arizona.
Coachella 2020's first weekend tickets have sold out, while sales for Weekend Two will start on Monday at 12pm.
Meanwhile, RATM last performed together in 2011 at LA Rising and frequently turned down calls for a reunion. Guitarist Tom Morello and his fellow RATM bandmates, Tim Commerford (bass) and Brad Wilk, have since worked with Chuck D. (Public Enemy) and B-Real (Cypress Hill) on Prophets Of Rage.
Zach De la Rocha et al recorded three original studio albums and a cover album before disbanding in 2000. The group returned together in 2007 but played only sporadic shows and never went on a full tour.
Morello said in 2012, "We have agreed to continue it just once. Once a year, the band meets and very seriously discusses and rejects the incredible offer to travel the world."
Meanwhile, other headliners at Coachella this year include Travis Scott and Frank Ocean.
