COVID-19 Update As Of February 21: Recovered Cases Are Higher Than New Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 392,560 specimens were examined with the result that there were 34,418 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 5,231,923 people and active cases have fallen by 5,687 to 530,671 cases", said Ministry of Health data, Monday, February 21.

Today's recovered cases are more than new cases, which increased by 39,929 people, bringing the total to 4,554,711 people recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 176 cases and a total of 146,541 people.

The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 8,105 cases and a total of 932,027 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with 5,358 new cases with a total of 1,135,025 cases. East Java recorded 3,621 new cases and a total of 494,478 cases. Central Java with 3,439 new cases bringing a total of 542,879 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 12,099 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 6,983 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 5,194 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 4,318 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 81,396,235.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 17.42 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 17,996 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

So far, 189,694,082 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 140,420,471 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 8,493,624. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
