Badui Area Hit By Floods And Landslides
LEBAK - Floods and landslides hit the Badui area in the interior of Lebak Regency, Banten Province, after being hit by heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning.
"Fortunately, there were no casualties from the natural disaster in the Badui area," said Head of the Lebak Regency Tagana Volunteer Iwan Hermansyah when contacted in Lebak, Thursday, February 17.
The natural disaster occurred at 17.00 western Indonesia time after heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning in the area of the Badui community.
The natural disaster was caused by the overflowing of the Cibarani River which caused four bridges to be flooded and one Saba cultural post and six Saung Huma were slightly damaged.
In addition, four houses in Ciranji Village, the Outer Badui settlement, were hit by landslides.

However, natural disasters did not cause displacement for the Badui community, because the Badui village was not flooded from the Cibarani River.
"We ask the Badui residents to stay alert for floods and landslides because the rain is still ongoing," he explained.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Lebak Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Febby Rizky Pratama, said that his party had dispatched officers to the field to monitor flood and landslide disaster areas in the Badui area.
"We are deploying a team of disaster officers to see the condition of the impact of natural disasters," he said.
