JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) revealed that all countries in the world need to increase collaboration so that they can be together in dealing with the pressures of the pandemic that has spread in all aspects of life.
According to the President, the latest developments in Eastern Europe today do not reflect these efforts at all. In fact, the Head of State specifically said that what Russia and Ukraine had recently shown was an inappropriate act.
"The revival of one area will awaken another. On the other hand, the collapse of one area will also collapse other areas. In a situation like this, this is not the time for rivalry, it is not the time to create new tensions that disrupt the world's recovery, let alone endanger the safety of the world, as is happening in Ukraine today," he said online at the opening of the 1st Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) forum. According to the Head of State, each party must prioritize the process of diplomacy and negotiation in solving existing problems and upholding the principles of peace.
“All parties must stop the rivalry and tension. We must focus on synergizing, collaborating to save and resurrect the world in which we live, to quickly rise again, to recover," said President Jokowi.
As is known, Russia and Ukraine are involved in tensions that lead to the potential for open war. The two thousand countries then increased their military activities in the border area as a strategy to show their strength.
From the latest information compiled by the editors, a number of Russian troops have been withdrawn from the border region and have eased tensions somewhat.
Meanwhile, the statement of President Joko Widodo's stance in the G20 forum is quite important because one of the parties to the dispute, namely Russia, is a member of this international association.
