DKI PSI Faction Suspicions, Jakpro Sells Formula E Tickets First Because They Can't Get Sponsors
JAKARTA - PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) has revealed plans to sell Formula E tickets in March 2022. The PSI faction of the DKI DPRD suspects that there is an intention behind the ticket sales plan.
Jakarta DRPD PSI faction member Anggara Wicitra Sastroamidjojo accused Jakpro of deliberately selling tickets early before the circuit was completed because they had not yet received a sponsor. Then, the ticket sales can cover the costs of building the circuit.
Bearing in mind, until now the BUMD that organizes Formula E has not yet published who is the sponsor of the electric car racing event.
"We are worried that Formula E will have minimal sponsors or even none at all. So maybe ticket sales at the beginning, as a way for Jakpro to get capital for the construction of the circuit," said Anggara in his statement, Wednesday, February 16.
Anggara stated that currently Jakpro has recorded a loss of Rp. 248 billion in the net profit column, although it has earned an income of Rp. 759 billion. He suspects that Jakpro does not have the capital to build the circuit.
"This seems to reinforce that Jakpro really needs initial capital to build the circuit, either from sponsors or from other alternatives," he said.
Previously, Vice Managing Director of Formula E PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) Gunung Kartiko leaked the price range for Formula E spectator tickets that will be sold.
Gunung said tickets to watch the electric car race were opened from hundreds of thousands to millions of rupiah. However, Gunung did not explain in detail the nominal tariff.
"It's affordable, (the lowest price for Formula E tickets) is hundreds of thousands. (The highest) up to millions," said Gunung when met at the DKI DPRD building.
