JAKARTA - Gojek's electronic money service, GoPay, presents a new security feature to make users safer when making transactions. One of them is by using the fingerprint biometric feature.

This feature is part of the Gojek Shield, a series of security technologies in the Gojek application. The biometric features in question are fingerprints and face verification to verify non-cash transactions outside the Gojek service.

"Apart from PIN, users can also take advantage of features that utilize biometric identities or unique physiological characteristics of each user in the form of fingerprints or faces to increase transaction security," said GoPay Managing Director, Budi Gandasoebrate in an official statement received, Thursday, September 10.

Currently, Budi stated that the fingerprint feature is available for all Android and iOS smartphone users, and the face verification feature is available on the iOS platform.

Do not stop there, Budi said that GoPay also has extra protection to protect users during GoPay transactions with the "GoPay Back Balance Guarantee," which guarantees when a user loses a GoPay balance that occurs beyond the user's control.

The series of Gojek Shield security features also include various technologies that maintain security on the Gojek platform, including one of which is the application of artificial intelligence-based security features to prevent hacking and misuse of user accounts.

Gojek and GoPay also ask users to always be vigilant by implementing JAGA steps, which include things such as not transferring outside the application, securing personal data such as OTP (One Time Password) secret codes, also using PIN and biometric features to verify transactions, and immediately submit complaints. anything suspicious to customer service or the authorities.

To activate the fingerprint feature on iOS, users only need to go to the GoPay payment transaction page, then click activate Touch ID, and enter the 6 digit PIN. After that, this fingerprint feature can be used to verify all non-cash transactions in the Gojek application.

Whereas on an Android phone, open the GoPay application, slide the activate fingerprint button, enter the 6 digit PIN used in the Gojek application, and the fingerprint feature has been activated.
