Three Suppliers Of Crude Palm Oil To Cooking Oil Company Owned By Conglomerate Martua Sitorus Committed To Support Government Policy

JAKARTA - Three companies that supply crude palm oil (CPO) to the cooking oil producer company Wilmar, owned by the conglomerate Martua Sitorus, are committed to supplying their products at a domestic market obligation (DMO) price of IDR 9,300 per kg to support the government's policy regarding the one-price cooking oil program.

The three suppliers are PT Bumitama Gunajaya Agro, PT Union Sampoerna Triputra Persada, and PT Dharma Satya Nusantara Tbk.

"This is the commitment of our suppliers, plantation companies to support government programs. With the availability of CPO DMO, the company is able to provide more cooking oil to the domestic market," said President Director of Consumer Pack Business Wilmar Thomas Muksim in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday 15 February.

The company hopes that this will make it easier for people to get these basic necessities on the market.

"We together with suppliers will also ensure that additional DMO CPO will reach the public in the form of cooking oil," said Thomas in his statement.

He said that efforts to assist the government regarding the cooking oil policy are everyone's responsibility because it will not be able to be done by a number of parties, therefore it is hoped that more people will be involved so that the cooking oil polemic can end soon.

"The community must also cooperate so as not to panic buying because the government is trying to meet the availability of cooking oil, and we will fully support it by pouring out four million liters per day, so that soon enough cooking oil will be available," he said.

Director of PT Bumitama Gunajaya Agro (BGA) Johan Puspowidjono, added that it is the company's responsibility to make a concrete contribution to the problems facing the community. Currently, PT BGA is the first and largest supplier of the Rp9,300 CPO DMO program to Wilmar.

The Director of PT Union Sampoerna Djohanis Hardjo said the same thing, it is the company's obligation to make the government's program a success.

Wilmar has disbursed packaged cooking oil worth IDR 14,000 in support of the government's policy in the one price program which started on January 19, 2022.

This step is expected to help the community to more easily obtain cooking oil at a more affordable price. All of Wilmar's cooking oil brands are currently marketed at Rp14,000/liter.
