Minister Of Health Said Budi, COVID-19 Storm Variant Omicron Like The Rainy Season, Normal Activities Use An Umbrella

JAKARTA - Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, asked the public to continue to live normally amidst the onslaught of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus. The public is expected to continue to carry out health protocols and carry out their activities as usual.

Budi even makes an analogy that this condition is the same as during the rainy season. When this season occurs, he continued, people are not prohibited from doing activities but are asked to make preparations.

"It's simple, if for example it's the rainy season and we are in the flu season, don't go out in the rain", said Budi in a press conference broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Monday, February 14.

"If you want to go out in the rain, use an umbrella or raincoat. But can we stop working or not, can we go to the mall? Yes, no. Live a normal life", he added.

Likewise with the condition of COVID-19 is increasing in cases. Budi said that people can do their activities but masks and all health protocols to prevent transmission must be carried out.

"It's the same now, if the COVID-19 is on the rise, how about the health protocol. But please wear the masks and please provide the vaccines", said the former Deputy Minister of SOEs.

If all the ways to prevent the transmission of the virus have been carried out, he believes, the public can be protected. So, normal life can still be carried out even though the COVID-19 pandemic continues to hit.

"If you have done that, you can still live a normal life. You can work, you can go to the mall", he said.

"But don't forget, now it's COVID season again. Wear a mask and also get vaccinations", concluded Budi.
