COVID-19 Goes Crazy, Two Districts In Batang Enter The Red Zone

BATANG - The Batang Regency Government, Central Java, released data that the distribution of COVID-19 patients in the local area had soared while establishing that two of the 15 sub-districts were now in red zone status.

Batang Regent, Wihaji, said that with the surge in COVID-19 cases, the district government had prepared two referral hospitals, namely the Kalisari Batang Hospital and the Qolbu Insan Mandiri Hospital (QIM) to anticipate a spike in the transmission of COVID-19 cases.

"Two sub-districts are in the red zone, namely Batang District and Gringsing District. These two areas contributed the most COVID-19 patients, namely in Batang District with 48 people and Gringsing with 25 people", he said in Batang, as reported by Antara on Monday, February 14.

The sub-districts with orange zone status are Wonotunggal as many as 4 people, Banyuputih (3), Subah (11), Tulis (13), Kandeman (9), and Warungasem (9) while the sub-districts with yellow status include Bandar (3), Reban ( 4), Bawang (2), Tersono (5), and Limpung (6).

As for the two sub-districts with green zone status, said Wihaji, they are Blado and Pecalungan.

The Head of the Care Division at the Kalisari Hospital, Batang Samuri Regency, said that currently, his party is treating 9 COVID-19 patients.

"However, we cannot confirm whether as many as 9 patients were exposed to the new variant of Omicron COVID-19 or not", he said.

According to him, currently, Batang Hospital has prepared 22 beds for COVID-19 isolation patients and if there is a spike it will be added to 115 units gradually.
