Head of the National Police's Security Maintenance Agency Checks Handling Of COVID-19 In Malang City
MALANG - The Head of the National Police's Security Maintenance Agency (Kabaharkam), Commissioner General Arief Sulistyanto, checked efforts to handle the COVID-19 pandemic in the Malang City area, East Java.
During the working visit, Arief said the checks were carried out to ensure that the implementation of health protocols by the community, especially Malang City residents, was strengthened in the face of a surge in confirmed cases.
"Our goal in carrying out the health program is to maintain public health. We are facing a third wave of high transmission rate, although the effect is not high", said Arief.
Arief monitored the implementation of Micro-Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Oro-Oro Dowo Village, Klojen District, Malang City, and ensured the implementation of health protocols was carried out strictly.
After monitoring the implementation of PPKM Mikro in Oro-Oro Dowo Village, Arief continued his inspection of one of the shopping centers that could potentially cause crowds on Veteran Street, Malang City.
"We visited the Matos Malltoo to directly check the public area after we checked the procedures were implemented properly", he added.
During the visit, Commissioner General Arief also disseminated the importance of using the PeduliLindungi application, especially in places visited by many people. He hoped that the positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the region could be suppressed soon.

For information, in the Malang City area, COVID-19 cases have continued to increase in recent times. It was recorded that until February 10, 2022, the number of active COVID-19 cases in the Malang City area reached 1,467 cases.
Based on data from the East Java Provincial Government, in the Malang City area, there were 18,198 positive confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of the total confirmed cases, 15,596 people were reported to have recovered, 1,135 people were declared dead.
