Can Pay Shopping With Crypto, Apple Immediately Launches The Tap To Pay Feature
JAKARTA – Recently, Apple reportedly launched a new feature that allows iPhone users to make crypto payments at various merchants, small businesses, and large retailers in the United States.
The feature, called Tap to Pay, will offer a contactless payment function to millions of merchants in Uncle Sam's country. This includes Apple Pay, debit cards, credit cards, and digital wallets.
Reporting from Cryptoptato, the Tap to Pay feature does not require additional hardware or a payment network. The announcement reveals that Tap to Pay on iPhone will work with contactless credit and debit cards from leading payment networks, such as American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa.
This means that customers will be able to use their cryptocurrency holdings to make payments via Tap to Pay. While customers will not be able to complete live transactions for Bitcoin and other digital assets, they will be able to spend their holdings via Coinbase, Visa, Crypto.com cards, and others.

Jennifer Bailey, corporate vice president for Apple Pay and Apple Wallet, highlighted the growing phenomenon of consumers tapping to pay with digital wallets and credit cards. Bailey confirmed that the iPhone feature will be launched soon. This is said to make business transactions run in a "safe, private, and easy way".
“Collaborating with payment platforms, app developers, and payment networks, we're making it easier than ever for businesses of all sizes — from solopreneurs to large retailers — to seamlessly accept contactless payments and continue to grow their businesses," said Bailey.
Apple further announced that private financial services company Stripe will be the first payments platform to offer Tap to Pay on iPhone to its business users and will use an additional payment app platform by the end of 2022.
