The Constitutional Court Of The Republic Of Indonesia To Host The World Constitutional Court Congress
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Constitutional Court (MK) Anwar Usman said that his party has the trust of world-class MK organizations as the organizer or host of the 5th Congress of The World Conference on Constitutional Justice (WCCJ) on October 4-8, 2022.
"The participants are extraordinary and perhaps this has never happened, namely 118 countries," said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman, in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, February 8.
According to him, the 5th Congress of the world-level Constitutional Court organization must be socialized from now on, because it involves hundreds of countries and discusses a number of important matters in the field of law enforcement.
"Once again, this is a trust for us. Not only for the Constitutional Court, but also for the Indonesian state and nation," said Anwar.
Previously, in September 2021 the institution was also trusted by the Constitutional Court organization under the auspices of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to hold a hybrid congress. Meanwhile, at the regional level or in Asia, the institutions he leads have been trusted many times. Not only that, the Constitutional Court together with two other countries namely Turkey and South Korea are also trusted to be the permanent secretariat for planning and coordination.
In the near future, he said, Indonesian President Joko Widodo is scheduled to attend and give a speech at the Special Plenary Session of the Constitutional Court's Annual Report on Thursday, February 10.
The trial was held in accordance with the mandate of Article 13 Number 7 of 2020 concerning the Third Amendment to Law Number 24 of 2003 which states that the Constitutional Court is obliged to publicly announce periodic reports to the public.
The periodic report includes applications that are registered, examined, and terminated as well as financial management and other administrative tasks. Through this Special Plenary Session, it is hoped that people's rights to information regarding the Constitutional Court can be fulfilled.
