An Earthquake With A Magnitude Of 6.2 Occurred In Central Maluku
JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 occurred in Central Maluku. The earthquake had no potential for a tsunami.
Quoted from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 occurred at 07.45 WIB, Tuesday, September 8.
The location of the Central Maluku earthquake was at 4.86 LS-129.82 East Longitude or 198 Km southeast of Central Maluku. The depth of the earthquake location is 193 km.
"There is no potential for a tsunami," said BMKG information.

According to BMKG, the earthquake located in the sea was felt on a scale of MMI III in Sorong, MMI II-III Ambon, MMI II-III Kairatu and MMI II-III Banda. BMKG explained that the MMI II-III scale means that people can feel an earthquake.
