COVID-19 Update As Of February 8: New Cases 37,492, Healing Increases 10,708
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 454,919 specimens were examined with the results of 37,492 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,580,093 people and active cases have increased by 26,701 to 233,062", said Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, February 8.
Today's recovered cases increased by 10,708 cases, bringing the total to 4,202,312 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 83 people and a total of 144,719 people.
The province with the highest new cases was DKI Jakarta with 10,817 cases and a total of 1,004,469 cases. Followed by West Java with 9,042 new cases with a total of 779,588 cases. Banten has 5,138 new cases and a total of 177,569 cases. Then, East Java with 3,608 new cases and a total of 416,596 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 5,149 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 1,711 recovered cases, Banten with an additional 1,503 recovered cases, and West Java with an additional 1,247 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 75,280,587.
"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 8.32 percent", it wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 19,992 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
To date, 187,047,562 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 132,090,119 people have received the second dose of vaccination. While the third dose of vaccination was 5,878,217. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
