Health Sub-Department Says 5 Thousand Central Jakarta Residents Exposed To COVID-19, Generally Asymptomatic
JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Health Sub-dept. recorded that there were 5,000 Central Jakarta residents who were exposed to the COVID-19 virus. This number continues to increase from the previous 2,000 residents.
"Currently, there are 5,000 people in Central Jakarta who are positive for COVID-19. Generally, the people who are exposed have no symptoms," explained the Head of the Central Jakarta Health Sub-dept., Erizon Safari, Tuesday, February 8.
Erizon said residents were asked to maintain health protocols (prokes) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the new variant of the Omicron type is not too severe the effect when compared to the Delta type.
"Omicron only transmits very quickly, but the effect is not as severe as Delta," he said.
Erizon said, residents who were exposed to the COVID-19 virus with mild symptoms should self-isolate (Isoman) at their respective homes. However, if the conditions do not support it, separate isolation can be carried out, such as at the athlete's house.
"From my record, what is being treated at the hospital is not as bad as the time the Delta type of COVID-19 virus attacked," he said.
He also appealed to people who are isoman at home not to carry out daily activities such as work, if they do not have the results of a swab test, either PCR or antigen.
"The current isoman is between 5 to 10 days. But they have to do a swab test first to make sure that they are negative from COVID-19," he said.
