Paundra's Upload Reveals The Polemic Of The Mangkunegaran Succession, Soloraya Cultural Activists Suggest This

JAKARTA - The figure who will continue the Mangkunegaran throne has yet to be decided. In fact, this became a polemic after one of the candidates, Gusti Pangeran Haryo (GPH) Paundrakarna Jiwa Suryanegara, expressed his anger through social media on January 22, 2022.

Through an account called @gphpaundrakarna1, Paundra seems to strongly criticize another candidate, GPH Bhre Cakrahutomo Wira Sudjiwo, for not being too ambitious to occupy the Mangkunegaran throne.

"Bhre who is highly educated, don't you dare to be strong, use your healthy mind properly and correctly, use your reason and use it and your conscience if it's still inside you," wrote Paundra.

As is known, King Pura Mangkunegaran Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Arya (KGPAA) Mangkunegara IX, died on August 13, 2021. GPH Paundrakarna, GPH Bhre Cakrahutomo, and KRMH Roy Rahajasa Yamin, are said to be the strongest candidates to continue the Mangkunegaran throne.

Responding to the news of the Mangkunegaran succession polemic that was revealed due to Paundra's post, R. Surodjo as a Soloraya Cultural Activist stated that the process of determining the successor to the throne this time experienced several obstacles.

"Because there are several obstacles, the process of prolonging the determination process compared to the previous appeal was due to an executor of his duties (Plt). If this is not there, since he (Mangkunegara IX) died there has been no sign of appointment or determination of a replacement. Maybe from the nuclear family there are still differences opinion. This needs to be formulated, sit down together to formulate what criteria can be used to determine Mangkunegara X," he told VOI February 5, 2022.

Of course, this polemic is not expected to last long because it can cause new problems if allowed to drag on. R. Surodjo suggested that the first solution to reduce the current situation was the appointment of Plt.
