Flood Cripples Jakarta Residents' Activities
JAKARTA - Heavy rains have flushed Jakarta since New Year's Eve, causing the capital city to be surrounded by floods. Several modes of transportation and roads were paralyzed by the flood.
At Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, 30 cm of water still inundates the runway or runway of the plane. The inundated area is approximately 500 meters.
Floods also inundated areas outside the airport which made it difficult for passengers to access Halim Airport. As a result, a number of flight schedules had to be canceled.
"For security and safety reasons, our activities at Halim Perdana Kusuma are temporarily closed until an undetermined time. All flights from Halim are diverted to Soetta (CGK), "said Director General of Civil Aviation at the Ministry of Transportation Polana Banguningsih Pramesti in a written statement, Wednesday, January 1.

Not only did it cripple Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, the floods also forced five Transjakarta corridors to stop operating. Corridors that stopped operating were Corridor 2 Pulogadung - Harmoni, Corridor 3 Kalideres - Pasar Baru, Corridor 8 Lebak Bulus - Harmoni, Corridor 9 Pluit - Pinang Ranti, and Corridor 10 Tanjung Priok - Cililitan.
Meanwhile, corridors that are still operating normally are Corridor 1 Blok M - Kota, Corridor 4 Pulogadung - Dukuh Atas, Corridor 7 of Kampung Melayu - Kampung Rambutan, Corridor 11 of Kampung Melayu - East Jakarta Mayor Office, and Corridor 12 Penjaringan - Tanjung Priok.
"Corridor 5 Trans Jakarta serves the Ancol - Kampung Melayu route. Meanwhile, Corridor six on the Dukuh Atas - Ragunan route only reaches the Setia Budi Aini bus stop," said PT Transjakarta spokesman Nadio Diposanjoyo via short message.
Toll Road Flooded
Heavy rains that continued to flush Jakarta from night to day also flooded a number of Jabodetabek toll roads. This is because several Jabodetabek toll roads are close to overflowing rivers.
"As a result of the continuous high rainfall since early this morning, PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk is currently following up on several spots of standing water on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road heading to Jakarta," said Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head of PT Jasa Marga. , Dwimawan Heru, in his press statement.
Heru said the height of the puddles ranged from 10 to 20 cm. On the Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road, for example, floods inundated the KM 04 + 000 section heading to Jakarta on lane two due to the overflow of the Pesanggrahan River.

For the Inner City Toll Road, puddles covered the lane since KM 14 + 400 towards Soekarno-Hatta Airport. As a result, traffic flow is diverted towards Tangerang and vehicles that can exit at Slipi Jaya access.
"The flood also inundated KM 14 + 600 in the direction of Semanggi and KM 01 + 000 at the Cawang Intersection. The height of the puddle ranged from 10 to 20 cm," wrote Heru.
To ensure that road conditions remain safe for road users, Jasa Marga Regional Jabodetabek officers have now alerted water pumps in puddle locations to accelerate suctioning of puddles. Road users who are on this route are expected to be careful when crossing.
