5 Viral Tweets On Twitter Throughout 2019
JAKARTA - Indonesia is claimed to be one of the countries whose Twitter social media users have grown the largest. It is not surprising that almost every day there are always viral tweets (chirp) that are running on Twitter users' timelines. If we trace it again, during 2019, these five tweets were most retweeted or liked and commented on by Twitter members.
The first most viral tweet this year came from an account belonging to journalist Najwa Shihab which was uploaded on September 25, 2019, to be precise after a student action refused to pass the Criminal Code Bill. At that time, the Speaker of the DPR, Bambang Soesatyo, failed to meet with student representatives to discuss the Draft Criminal Code.
It reads like this, "Dear Speaker of the DPR, if you really want to have a dialogue with students, we will humbly invite @matanajwa tonight. So, the public can listen. Don't worry, there will be no tear gas at @matanajwa."
The tweet was retweeted 135 thousand times, while it was liked as much as 124.2 thousand times.

Apart from that, a busy chirp during the demonstration period against the Criminal Code Bill was when one of the reporters was subjected to physical violence by Brimob officers. Not only intimidated, Narasi TV reporter Vany Fitria's phone was taken away.
From that incident, the Chief Editor of Narrative TV Zen RS via his Twitter account @zenrs asked the Police to return the reporter's phone that had been stolen. The tweet was then retweeted 18.5 thousand times, and received 11.7 thousand likes.

No less buzz on Twitter's timeline are tweets about natural disasters. One of them comes from the account of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency, @infoBMKG.
When an earthquake occurred in Banten on August 2, 2019, BMKG announced to the public that the earthquake had the potential for a tsunami. The tweet then spread, where as of this writing it has reached 98.6 thousand retweets and 57.5 thousand likes.

Then, the next viral tweet emerged from the @mazzini_giusepe account thread which tells the love story of Indonesia's national hero, Captain Pierre Tendean and his partner Rukmini Chaimin. This tweet was retweeted 53.2 thousand times, and received 90.3 thousand likes.
The tweet, written by Mazzini, describes the ironic love story of Captain Tendean and Rukmini. How could they not, they undergo interfaith relations and long distance relationships. Then when they were preparing for the wedding ceremony in November 1965, suddenly they had to cancel because of the September 30 rebellion by the PKI.
