LPSK Offices Closed 5 Days After Employees Are Positive For COVID-19

JAKARTA - The Office of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) located in the Ciracas area, East Jakarta, is closed for 5 working days, starting from 7-11 September 2020 following a number of employees confirmed positive for COVID-19.

"The LPSK office will resume operations and be open to the public on Monday, September 14, 2020," said LPSK Chairman Hasto Atmojo Suroyo in a written statement in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Friday, September 4.

Hasto said, as long as office activities are closed, his party will carry out sterilization in all office areas in order to anticipate and stop the spread of COVID-19 among employees.

The leaders and employees of the LPSK will continue to work from their respective homes as long as office activities are stopped.

Hasto hopes that the activities of working from home carried out by leaders and employees do not interfere with the witness and victim protection program.

"We continue to work even from home so that efforts related to the protection of witnesses and victims continue," said Hasto.

Furthermore, Hasto ensured that the public could still apply for protection to the LPSK through the available channels.

The public, he said, could take advantage of the online protection application available on Playstore, or communicate directly with the LPSK team via Whatsapp 085770010048.

Regarding employees who were confirmed positive for COVID-19, Hasto said most of them were people without symptoms (OTG).

"They will undergo independent isolation under the supervision of the health team," said Hasto.

With independent isolation, he said, it is hoped that the chain of spread of COVID-19 can be broken. Meanwhile, employees who are positive for the corona virus will be subjected to a repeat swab test to ensure they are free from the virus.

"For those who are positive, in the future they will be tested again for swab to find out their health condition," he said.

Previously, on Thursday, September 3, all leaders and employees underwent a swab test at the LPSK office yard, East Jakarta. The swab test is carried out in collaboration with the State Intelligence Agency (BIN). From the results of the swab test, it was found that a number of LPSK employees were confirmed positive for COVID-19.
