The Johar Market Fire Has Become A Spectacle, Ganjar Pranowo: Get Out Of The Way, Mas, This Is For Fire Trucks

SEMARANG - A massive fire engulfed the Johar market relocation site at the Great Mosque of Central Java (MAJT), Wednesday night, February 2nd. The fire burned dozens of stalls in block F of the market.

The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, received information about the fire while on his way back to Semarang from Rembang. Ganjar chose to go directly to the location to monitor the handling of the fire.

When Ganjar arrived, the fire was still burning quite large, with smoke rising high. The large number of people who wanted to watch the fire incident made the roads jammed. Even the access road to the market is also badly congested.

"Get out of the way, mas, this is a road for firefighters. Police, let's clear this road so the firefighters can pass. Now sir, let's all move aside," shouted Ganjar to the residents who filled the street.

Ganjar is busy asking people who are not interested to leave the fire site. He also coordinated with firefighters to expedite the fire.

At that time, a number of traders who were victims cried hysterically. They shouted for Ganjar and asked for help.

"Pak Ganjar, please sir. My trade is sold out, sir. Iki kepiye sir (this is how it is, sir)," said the women traders.

"Be patient, ma'am, it's being extinguished," said Ganjar trying to calm him down.

The PDI-P politician was at the site of the fire for a long time. He walked here and there to make sure the fire management was going well.

"It has been handled, all blangwir (firefighters) have been deployed, including from the police. All my friends have moved. Hopefully it will be extinguished quickly," said Ganjar.

Not only about the blackout, Ganjar also said that he had coordinated with the Mayor of Semarang, Hendrar Prihadi regarding the handling of fire victims. He asked the market administrator and the market village head to immediately record who the fire victims were.

"I ask to note who the victims are in this burning shop. Earlier, the mayor had spoken to me and I asked to prepare a contingency plan for those traders who were victims. Let's count them soon," he said.

Asked about the new Johar market which is ready for occupancy, Ganjar said traders who already have kiosks should immediately move. However, those who cannot move should be the priority for handling.

"It's a pity for those who have not been able to move, that's what we have to think about the condition of their burned merchandise. The guardian has spoken, tomorrow we will talk to determine the scheme. The important thing is that it goes out first, in the future it will definitely be helped," he concluded.
