The Percentage Of Positive Cases Of COVID-19 In DKI Jakarta Increases To 13 Percent
JAKARTA - Head of Disease Prevention and Control Division, DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office, Dwi Oktavia explained that the positivity rate of COVID-18 in Jakarta in a week stands at 13 percent.
"The positivity rate or percentage of positive cases in the last week in Jakarta was 13.0 percent, while the percentage of positive cases in total was 6.7 percent," Dwi said in his statement, Friday, September 4.
When looking at the data, the percentage of active cases based on all specimens examined has continued to increase over the last few days.
The positivity rate for the last week to September 1 was at 9.8 percent, the last week until September 2 it was 11.2 percent, and it rose again to 12.5 percent on September 3.
Dwi said one of the factors that caused the high positivity rate of DKI was because the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government continued to assassinate PCR tests to find new cases quickly, so that people who were confirmed positive could be isolated or treated.
Based on standards from the World Health Organization (WHO), DKI has to test 10 thousand in one week. Now, DKI has done more than five times the WHO standard.
"The total PCR test rate per 1 million population is 62,767. The number of people tested for PCR in the last week was 51,796," he explained.
Based on the latest data from the DKI Health Office, there were 7,491 specimens that were examined in real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) today to diagnose new cases.
"As a result, we found an increase of 895 positive cases and 6,596 negative cases. The total number of confirmed cases in Jakarta to date is 44,604," he said.
Currently, there are a total of 33,260 people who have recovered with a cure rate of 74.6 percent, and a total of 1,260 people have died with a mortality rate of 2.8 percent.
