COVID-19 Update As Of September 4: New Cases 3,269, Cured Cases Increased 2,126

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 36,268 specimens were examined, the result was 3,269 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 187,537 people," he was quoted as saying from the Ministry of Health's data, Friday, September 4.

Today's cases increased by 2,126, so that a total of 134,181 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 82 people and the total was 7,832 people.

The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 880 new cases and a total of 44,280 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Furthermore, West Java has 385 new cases with a total of 12,104 cases. East Java with 350 new cases and a total of 35,005 cases. East Kalimantan with 281 new cases and a total of 4,815 cases. Then, Bali has 196 new cases and a total of 5,906 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 819 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 284 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 120 recovered cases, and East Kalimantan with an additional 88 recovered cases.

Then, there are 2 provinces that reported having no new cases today. The provinces are Central Sulawesi and West Sulawesi.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 2,375,133. In detail, 2,331,197 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 43,936 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 13.7 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 85,178 people. Currently, 489 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
