Police Seize 15 GMBI Members In Bogor, Sharp Weapons Confiscated
BOGOR - The Bogor Police arrested 15 members of the Indonesian Lower Society Movement (GMBI) and a number of sharp weapons while searching its headquarters and conducting raids on several streets in Bogor Regency, West Java.
"Road raids at 34 border points under the jurisdiction of the Bogor Police, including the Rindu Alam Border Post on the Bogor-Cianjur border, the Gadog Block Post, the Cianjur-Jonggol border bulkhead, the Bekasi-Cileungsi border bulkhead, and the Depok-Gunung Putri border bulkhead," he said. Bogor Police Chief, AKBP Iman Imanuddin in Cibinong, Bogor quoted by Antara, Sunday, January 30.
According to him, the control was carried out to anticipate that GMBI members in the Bogor Regency area would not be provoked by the violent demonstration at the West Java Police Headquarters, Bandung City which occurred on Thursday, January 27, 2022.
"Giving an appeal for security and social security to the community and GMBI members in Bogor Regency to exercise restraint, not to be provoked by the events that occurred at the West Java Regional Police," he explained.
Iman said that apart from securing 15 GMBI members, police officers also confiscated a number of sharp weapons.
"Several sharp weapons in the form of samurai, machetes and machetes were found at several GMBI command headquarters in the jurisdiction of the Bogor Police," said Iman.
In addition, the Bogor Police also secured five motorbikes and one four-wheeled vehicle that GMBI members wanted to use to the Bandung City area.
