But ahead of tonight's match, surprising news came from the Maung Bandung squad. Because only a few hours before the match, a number of players tested positive for COVID-19.
From the information obtained, the number of positive players is nine people. In an official statement on the official Persib website, the nine players tested positive after carrying out regular PCR tests recently.
"In connection with this, Persib continues to coordinate intensively with PT LIB and the COVID-19 Task Force regarding the protocols that must be implemented to ensure the safety of exposed players and other players," Persib wrote in a release, Saturday, January 29.
With this condition, Persib also explained that currently nine players who were exposed to COVID-19 had undergone quarantine and were in good health without showing symptoms. However, the club did not mention in detail who the nine players were exposed to and only asked for prayers so that all could return to health
"We ask for prayers and support from all parties, so that these players can return to practice, play and give their best for Persib," added the statement.
Although nine players tested positive, Persib maintained good faith by stating that they would continue the match. With the remaining players, Maung Bandung will try to perform optimally against Persikabo.
"As a competition participant, Persib remains in good faith to undergo the scheduled matches and fight for victory with the existing players," explained Persib's statement.
