Jakpro Temporarily Closes Jakarta International Stadium From Public Visits Starting January 30
JAKARTA - PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) BUMD plans to temporarily close the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) stadium starting January 30, 2022, to pursue completion of the installation of spectator stands and a number of other facilities.
President Director of PT Jakpro Widi Amanasto conveyed the temporary closure of JIS from community visits, in order to move work to pursue the realization of the International Youth Championship agenda on February 5, 2022, there.
"On February 5, there will be a tournament. In fact, we have had a lot of meetings with Mr. Luhut. That's why JIS will be closed from the 30th for settlements starting from the stands, everything is rushed," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 27.
Widi said that the plan for the International Youth Championship tournament, which will present Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid aged 19 and Indonesia all-star teams, will be held without spectators.
"On February 5, God willing. There will be no audience," he said.
Widi explained that the soccer tournament will be promoted by the Jakarta Experience Board (JXB), while PT Jakpro is in charge of preparing the location, as well as "soft-launching" the JIS stadium.
"That's the committee from JXB, we provide the location. So all JIS readiness is Jakpro, but the match readiness is in JXB. We 'support' JXB from the location side," he continued.
